Thank you for your work Austin. I would like to share "Governing" with friends, but many are more comfortable reading in Spanish. Do you have a Spanish version of this article? I can use Google Translate, of course.
Thank you so much for your clear-eyed views. I'm down in the trenches with all of the frightened people, and it's so helpful to have your perspective to guide my responses to their anxious inquiries. I've narrowed my intake to you and a couple of other trusted voices in the immigration world to try to pierce the veil of chaos and confusion!
Austin, I have found your work really helpful this week. Thank you for this. I would benefit from a summary of the EOs compared to what he did (through EOs or otherwise) in his first term. Have you done that and I missed it? Most of his EOs seem very familiar and I am hoping a message that can be sent to those who are worried is that we have seen this before. While I am not happy it is happening again, I think it is important to remember that we learned from his last term and we are not starting from scratch.
Thanks for the suggestion and I think you’re right that remembering that we’ve seen this before it does go along way to helping people to spell some anxiety. Let me think about how I can do this, because I haven’t really done that systematically yet.
As always, I appreciate your sober assessment of immigration issues. I'm especially drawn to your second point about governing through chaos and confusion, which I think is related to your third point about being intentional with attention. The slew of EOs, and the antics by Trump and his billionaire coterie, seem to be designed to distract while the ascending kleptocracy stays focused on consolidating wealth and power. That's not to say that these EOs aren't important. Even if they're being used as distractions, they can still be harmful. Still, it behooves us to home in on the endgame. Thanks for writing, Austin.

I’m afraid I don’t, but I don’t have any problem with you running this through ChatGPT or some other translator.
Thank you, as always Austin, for the clear and factual analysis. And for giving us all permission to turn the chaos off!

Thank you for the kind words, Paige. I'll keep doing this!

Yes I totally agree! Being able to step back a little bit and not get so wrapped up into the new cycle can be helpful.
